摘      要：The Xidan Cultural Plaza is situated at the crossroad of the Xidan commercial area. Together with the neighboring buildings, this new plaza has made the building group a complete whole. In order to give more fresh air to the city dwellers, large greenery patches and outdoor space were added to the plaza. The elegant plaza, opened to the public, offers convenient services to the people. According to the design, the central line of the South China Building to the north of the plaza is used as north south axial. The point where the axial intersects the line which forms a 45 degree angle with the center of the crossroad at Xidan is the center of the plaza. At which a glass cone serves as landmark of the plaza and introduces natural light to the underground commercial area. The footpaths through the greenery patches reach as far as the subway entrance. It is very convenient for the pedestrians. The overpasses not only keep the pedestrians from the traffic, but also offer the passers by a better view of the street.
