摘      要：Tile first ＂Beijing silk figures＂ were created during the Northern Song Dynasty （960-1127）. However, due to some historical reasons, the art form started to wane during the mid-Qing I）ynasty （1644-1911 ）. It was not until 1955, during the International Exhibition of Dolls, held in New Delhi, capital of lndia, that the figures reappeared. The exquisite figures, made by Ge Jing＇an （a woman in East China＇s Zheiiang Province）, were a hit. Since then, the ancient art form has had a new lease on life, and it has been in favor with people fi＇om all over the world.
