摘      要：The new generation of Chinese filmmakers, also called the ""sixth generation"", are much different from their predecessors in terms of the artistic motifs, aesthetic bents, and overall forms of their work. This current group lacks a leader; no single artist stands above the crowd. The sixth generation directors are mostly mavericks, independently scouting their own frontiers.
