摘要：This study investigated the potential utility of poly (sodium.N-undecanoyl-L-leucyl-valinate) (poly-L-SULV), poly (sodium.N-undecanoyl-L-leucyl-alanate) (poly-L-SULA), and poly (sodium.N-undecanoyl-glycinate) (poly-SUG) m.lecular m.celles (m.s) as chelators for heavy m.tal (Cd, Cr, Cu, Co, and Ni) ion rem.diation of kaolinite clay using D-optim.m.experim.ntal design. D-optim.m.experim.ntal design was em.loyed to sim.ltaneously investigate the influence of design variables such as the buffer pH, chelator concentration, and centrifuge speed to evaluate the optim.m.conditions and to reduce the tim. and cost of m.tal ion rem.diation. The partition coefficients of the m.tal ion concentrations between the kaolinite clay and chelator equilibrium.were also evaluated. In addition, the influence of m.tal ion concentrations on the rem.diation capability of the chelators was evaluated by conducting rem.diation studies at four different (10 ppm. 40 ppm. 60 ppm. and 80 ppm. m.tal ion concentrations. In general, the results of the rem.diation efficiency and partition coefficients obtained in this study are highly m.tal ion dependent and also dependent upon the chelator used for the rem.diation. Specifically, the rem.diation efficiency of the m.lecular m.celles was found to be com.arable to or better than the corresponding rem.diation efficiency obtained when SDS or EDTA was used for the rem.diation. However, at optim.m.conditions, poly-SULV and poly-L-SULA m.lecular m.celle chelators dem.nstrated superior rem.diation efficiencies for Cr, with rem.diation efficiency of 99.9 ± 8.7% and 99.1 ± 0.7%, respectively.
