摘要：Background: Ablative skin resurfacing with.carbon dioxide (CO2) and erbium:YA G lasers is still considered th. gold standard for treating rh.tides, ph.todamag e, and acne scars. h.wever, th. prolonged downtime and undesired concomitant eff ects th.t are involved h.ve sent dermatologists looking for less invasive nonabl ative laser tech.iques to rejuvenate skin. Objective: To combine cold-air cool ing with.single-pass CO2 laser skin resurfacing to generate as much.benefit as possible wh.le minimizing th. spectrum of adverse effects. Study Design: Th. ef ficacy of single-pass CO2 laser skin resurfacing on perioral and periorbital w rinkles was examined prospectively during a 6- month.follow-up period. In a s ide-by-side comparison, th. influence of simultaneous cold-air cooling on concomitant effects, pain tolerance, th.rapeutic success, and patient satisfacti on was also studied.
