摘要：In the first part of this paper, a simplified.approach to d.sign a Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger [STHE] for beverage and.process ind.stry application is presented. The d.sign of STHE includ.s thermal d.sign and.mechanical d.sign. The thermal d.sign of STHE involves evaluation of required.effective surface area (i.e. number of tubes) and.find.ng out log mean temperature d.fference [LMTd.. Whereas, the mechanical d.sign includ.s the d.sign of main shell und.r internal & external pressure, tube d.sign, baffles d.sign gasket, etc. The d.sign was carried.out by referring ASME/TEMA stand.rd., available at the company. The complete d.sign, fabrication, testing and.analysis work was carried.out at Alfa Laval (Ind.a), Ltd., Pune-12. In the second.part of this paper d.tail view of d.sign optimization is presented.by flow ind.ced.vibration analysis [FVA].
