摘要：This paper studies nonparametric estimation of the regression function with surrogate outcome data under double-sampling designs, where a proxy response is observed for the full sample and the true response is observed on a validation set. A new estimation approach is proposed for estimating the regression function. The authors first estimate the regression function with a kernel smoother based on the validation subsample, and then improve the estimation by utilizing the information on the incomplete observations from the non-validation subsample and the surrogate of response from the full sample. Asymptotic normality of the proposed estimator is derived. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated via simulations.

摘要：We describe the footprint and input catalog for bright nights in the LAMOST Pilot Survey, which began in October 2011. Targets are selected from two stripes in the north and south Galactic Cap regions, centered at δ = 29°, with 10° width in declination, covering right ascensions of 135° to 290° and -30° to 30° re- spectively. We selected spectroscopic targets from a combination of the SDSS and 2MASS point source catalogs. The catalog of stars defining the field centers （as re- quired by the Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor at the center of the LAMOST field） consists of all V 〈 8m stars from the Hipparcos catalog. We employ a statistical selection algorithm that assigns priorities to targets based on their positions in mul- tidimensional color/magnitude space. This scheme overemphasizes rare objects and de-emphasizes more populated regions of magnitude and color phase space, while en- suring a smooth, well-understood selection function. A demonstration of plate design is presented based on the Shack-Hartmann star catalog and an input catalog that was generated by our target selection routines.

摘要：We consider a nonlinear integral eigenvalue problem, which is a reformulation of the transmission eigenvalue problem arising in the inverse scattering theory. The boundary element method is employed for discretization, which leads to a generalized matrix eigenvalue problem. We propose a novel method based on the spectral projection. The method probes a given region on the complex plane using contour integrals and decides whether the region contains eigenvalue(s) or not. It is particularly suitable to test whether zero is an eigenvalue of the generalized eigenvalue problem, which in turn implies that the associated wavenumber is a transmission eigenvalue. Effectiveness and efficiency of the new method are demonstrated by numerical examples.

摘要：A Prioritized Medium Access Control （P-MAC） protocol is proposed for wireless routers of mesh networks with quality-of-service provisioning. The simple yet effective design of P-MAC offers strict service differentiation for prioritized packets. A Markov model is developed to yield important performance matrices including the packet blocking probability due to queue overflow and the packet reneging probability due to delay bound. It is further proved that the service time of P-MAC approximates exponential distribution, and can be effectively estimated. The analytic models with preemptive and non-preemptive schemes, validated via simulations, show that P-MAC can effectively support traffic differentiation and achieve very low packet dropping （both reneging and blocking） probabilities when the traffic load is below the channel capacity. When the network is overloaded, P-MAC can still maintain extremely stable and high channel throughput. Moreover, it is demonstrated that P-MAC performs superior in multihop networks, further proving the advantages of the proposed protocol.

摘要：In many circumstances, chemical process design can be formulated as a multi-objective optimization （MOO） problem. Examples include bi-objective optimization problems, where the economic objective is maximized and environmental impact is minimized simultaneously. Moreover, the random behavior in the process,property, market fluctuation, errors in model prediction and so on would affect the performance of a process. Therefore, it is essential to develop a MOO methodology under uncertainty. In this article, the authors propose a generic and systematic optimization methodology for chemical process design under uncertainty. It aims at identifying the optimal design from a number of candidates. The utility of this methodology is demonstrated by a case study based on the design of a condensate treatment unit in an ammonia plant.
