摘要：In order to achieve maximization of parallelism, effective distribution of rendering tasks, balance between performance and flexibility in graphics processing pipeline, this article presents design, performance analysis and optimization for multi-core interactive graphics processing unit （MIGPU）. This processor integrates twelve processing cores with specific instruction set architecture and many sophisticated application-specific accelerators into a 3D graphics engine. It is implemented on XC6VLX550T field programmable gate array （FPGA）. MIGPU supports OpenGL2.0 with programmable front-end processor, vertex shader, plane clipper, geometry transformer, three-D clippers and pixel shaders. For boosting the performance of MIGPU, the relationship model is established between primitive types, vertices, pixels, and the effect of culling, clipping, and memory access, and shows a way to improve the speed up of the graphics pipeline. It is capable of assigning graphics rendering tasks to different processors for efficiency and flexibility. The pixel filling rate can reach to 40 Mpixel/s at its peak performance.

摘要：Smart morphing wing, which is equipped with smart materials and able to change structural geometry adaptively, can further improve aerodynamic efficiency of aircraft. This paper presents a new integrated layout and topology optimization design for morphing wing driven by shape memory alloys(SMAs). By simultaneously optimizing the layout of smart actuators and topology of wing substrate, the ultimately determined configuration can achieve smooth, continuous and accurate geometric shape changes. In addition, aerodynamic analysis is carried out to compare smart morphing wing with traditional hinged airfoil. Finally, the optimized smart wing structure is constructed and tested to demonstrate and verify the morphing functionality. Application setbacks are also pointed out for further investigation.

摘要：Polarization controllers （PCs） are indispensable passive components for state of polarization （SOP） control in optical fiber communication systems. In order to overcome the disadvantages of existing polarization controller （PC）, a novel PC based on the artificial birefringence is designed in this paper. The PC results from the concatenation of 3 phase retardation control units each of which consists of two polarization beam splitters, two prisms and one piezoz-lectric transducer （PZT） piezoelectric ceramic. The experimental results show that the proposed PC can convert an arbitrary input SOP to any expected output one with high accuracy under low control voltage.

摘要：LCO_2(liquid CO_2) can absorb heat and release latent heat via phase transition, which can provide considerable cooling energy and effectively solve the problem of thermal damage in deep coal mining processes. A LCO_2 cycle refrigeration system is designed to continuously cool down the working face in a mine, and CO_2 is cyclically utilized. Additionally, LCO_2 is used not only as a cold source but also to prevent spontaneous combustion of coal in the gob. COMSOL Multiphysics simulation software is used to characterize the thermal performance of the heat exchange system, where the heat transfers between the CO_2 and the airflow. For a LCO_2 consumption of 13.54 m^3/h, the temperature of the airflow in the tunnel decreases by 7.72°C, and the cooling volume of the system reaches 142.99 kW/h; the cooling volume provides a latent heat release of 46.68 k W/h. The main influencing factors of the refrigeration system, such as ventilation flux, LCO_2 flow, LCO_2 temperature and initial tunnel temperature, are also analyzed quantitatively through the software. The temperature of the steady airflow in the tunnel is proportional to the square of the local fan ventilation flux, and it decreases linearly with an increase in the LCO_2 flow but increases with both the temperature of the LCO_2 and the initial temperature in the tunnel. When the temperature difference between the LCO_2 and wind increases, the heat exchange between the CO_2 and wind intensifies, and the cooling volume increases.
