摘要：The many-accelerator architecture, mostly composed of general-purpose cores and accelerator-like function units （FUs）, becomes a great alternative to homogeneous chip multiprocessors （CMPs） for its superior power-efficiency. However, the emerging many-accelerator processor shows a much more complicated memory accessing pattern than general purpose processors （GPPs） because the abundant on-chip FUs tend to generate highly-concurrent memory streams with distinct locality and bandwidth demand. The disordered memory streams issued by diverse accelerators exhibit a mutual- interference behavior and cannot be efficiently handled by the orthodox main memory interface that provides an inflexible data fetching mode. Unlike the traditional DRAM memory, our proposed Aggregation memory System （AMS） can function adaptively to the characterized memory streams from different FUs, because it provides the FUs with different data fetching sizes and protects their locality in memory access by intelligently interleaving their data to memory devices through sub-rank binding. Moreover, AMS can batch the requests without sub-rank conflict into a read burst with our optimized memory scheduling policy. Experimental results from trace-based simulation show both conspicuous performance boost and energy saving brought by AMS.

摘要：A multi-bit antifuse-type one-time programmable （OTP） memory is designed, which has a smaller area and a shorter programming time compared with the conventional single-bit antifuse-type OTP memory. While the conventional antifuse-type OTP memory can store a bit per cell, a proposed OTP memory can store two consecutive bits per cell through a data compression technique. The 1 kbit OTP memory designed with Magnachip 0.18 μm CMOS （complementary metal-oxide semiconductor） process is 34% smaller than the conventional single-bit antifuse-type OTP memory since the sizes of cell array and row decoder are reduced. And the programming time of the proposed OTP memory is nearly 50% smaller than that of the conventional counterpart since two consecutive bytes can be compressed and programmed into eight OTP cells at once. The layout area is 214 μm× 327 μ,, and the read current is simulated to be 30.4 μA.

摘要：In deep sub-micron ICs, growing amounts of on-die memory and scaling effects make embedded memories more vulnerable to reliability problems, such as soft errors induced by radiation. Error Correction Code(ECC) along with scrubbing is an efficient method for protecting memories against these errors. However, the latency of coding circuits brings speed penalties in high performance applications. This paper proposed a "bit bypassing" ECC protected memory by buffering the encoded data and adding an identifying address for the input data. The proposed memory design has been fabricated on a 130 nm CMOS process. According to the measurement, the proposed scheme only gives the minimum delay overhead of 22.6%, compared with other corresponding memories. Furthermore, heavy ion testing demonstrated the single event effects performance of the proposed memory achieves error rate reductions by 42.9 to 63.3 times.

摘要：Throughout Western music history, pre-existing material has long been the aesthetic core of a new composition. Yet there has never been such an epoch as our time in which using pre-existing material, melodic quotation in particular, features so extensively in works of many of the composers. The aim of this paper is to investigate how the use of quoted tunes in a musical piece operates in an interwoven complex where time and space are of the essence. A quote is able to oscillate perpetually between one’s mental worlds of the memorable past and the imaginative present when it is highlighted enough to be recognizable from its surrounding context. Upon interpreting the use of quotation in various contexts, the aesthetic object, I argue, is the shift from original to quoted music, and vice versa. And listeners can respond aesthetically to the quotation itself even without knowledge of its provenance and textual or referential content.

摘要：The purpose of this article is to develop the concept ＂botanical memory＂ through an analysis of interviews conducted with indigenous plant enthusiasts in the biodiverse Southwest corner of Western Australia. The topic of this article can be described as memory-based studies of plant diversity or botanically-focused oral histories; and the method is ethnographic. Attending to the everyday practices constituting botanical memory, the article posits a material-affective framework to foreground the dynamics between plants, people, objects, and remembrance. The writings of Henry David Thoreau and C. Nadia Seremetakis, in conjunction with affect and materiality theory, offer conceptual anchor points for this exploration of human recollection and flora. The interviews indicate that plant-based objects and living plants deepen human memory, particularly through their appeal to touch, taste, smell, and sensation.

摘要：Toni Morrison＇s fiction may arguably be characterized as postmodern discourse on memory, history and culture. In her novels, the Nobel laureate frequently returns to the past to search for answers to the questions she poses about African American realities in the contemporary United States. In doing so, Morrison often creates alternative histories or, more specifically, a usable past----one that allows her to engage in a literary （re-）construction of the Black historical and cultural material which traditional histories have chosen to ignore or disremember. Therefore, as a present-day writer of African American descent, Morrison attempts to reassemble all the fragmentary historical and cultural accounts available to her as a novelist and narrate them in the form of a convincing story. With regard to the above considerations, this article seeks to discuss some of the mechanisms employed by Morrison for weaving her postmodern, memory-filled narrative on the example of her eighth novel, Love （2003）. In particular, the analysis focuses on the book＇s central figure, Bill Cosey, and his Southern ocean-side resort--both seen against the backdrop of the pre- and post-World War II racist America, followed by the 1960s decade of the Civil Rights Movement. Finally, it is also demonstrated how the author＇s use of split narrative as well as the ＂I＂ narrator-cum-character technique contribute to recounting in retrospect Love＇s main, historicized story---one viewed and judged from a present-time perspective.
