摘要：This paper motivated and inspired by an interdisciplinary critical educational issue adopted for a research work approach. It concerned with application of realistic Artificial Neural networks (ANNs) models integrating reading brain function with multi-sensory cognitive learning theory. Specifically, these models adopted to improve tutoring quality (academic achievement) while teaching children “how to read?” considering the analysis and evaluation of phonics methodology. Herein, quantitative analysis and evaluation of this issue performed by considering two computer aided learning (CAL) packages concerned with a specific selected mathematical topic namely: long division process. Via realistic modeling of packages using (ANNs) based upon associative memory learning paradigm. In more details, at educational field practice; both CAL packages have been applied for teaching children algorithmic steps performing long division processes. Moreover, learning performance evaluation of presented packages considers children outcomes’ achievement after tutoring for suggested Mathematical Topic either with or without associated tutor’s voice. Interestingly, statistical analysis of obtained educational case study results at children classrooms (for both applied packages) versus classical tutoring proved to be in well agreement with obtained after ANNs computer simulation results.

摘要：Fairness and stability guarantee among TCP flows is very stubborn in wireless ad hoc networks. There is not a MAC protocol that can fulfill this acquirement until now. In this paper, we firstly reveal the in-depth causes of the severe TCP unfairness and instability problems in IEEE 802.11-based multihop networks. Then we utilize the collision detection mechanism of the IEEE 802.11 protocol which is often ignored by most of the people to design a novel collision detection mechanism-based MAC (CDMB-MAC) scheme to solve the short-term and long-term fairness and stability issues while providing a good aggregate throughput in many topologies.

摘要：Wireless Ad Hoc networks is a special kind of wireless communication network. With the great development of multimedia applications, how to provide QoS guarantee in the MAC layer is the hot topic in wireless ad hoc network (MANET). This paper designed a QoS model in MANET. The feasibility and reliability of this model is analyzed and verified. Compared with the traditional model, the proposed approach is improved in MAC layer in order to achieve high control rate of low-priority transactions.

摘要：Several protocols and schemes have been proposed to reduce energy consumption in Wireless Sensor Net-works (WSNs). In this paper we employ farcoopt, a cross layer design approach with the concept of coop-eration among the nodes with best farthest neighbor scheme to increase the Quality of Service (QoS), reduce energy consumption, increases performance and end-to-end throughput. We present cooperative transmission to connect previously disconnect parts of a network thus overcoming the separation problem of multi-hop network. We show that this approach improves connectivity over 50% compared to multi-hop approaches and reduces the number of nodes necessary to provide full coverage of an area up to 35%. Simulation results show that on increase of data rates i.e. packet the network life time increases in farcoopt as compared to tra-ditional multi hop approach. The result of this analysis is presented in this work.

摘要：Designing low power sensor networks has been the general goal of design engineers, scientist and end users. It is desired to have a wireless sensor network (WSN) that will run on little power (if possible, none at all) thereby saving cost, and the inconveniences of having to replace batteries in some difficult to access areas of usage. Previous researches on WSN energy models have focused less on the aggregate transceiver energy consumption models as compared to studies on other components of the node, hence a large portion of energy in a WSN still get depleted through data transmission. By studying the energy consumption map of the transceiver of a WSN node in different states and within state transitions, we propose in this paper the energy consumption model of the transceiver unit of a typical sensor node and the transceiver design parameters that significantly influences this energy consumption. The contribution of this paper is an innovative energy consumption model based on simple finite automata which reveals the relationship between the aggregate energy consumption and important power parameters that characterize the energy consumption map of the transceiver in a WSN;an ideal tool to design low power WSN.

摘要：This research work investigated comparative studies of expert system design and control of crude oil distillation column (CODC) using artificial neural networks based Monte Carlo (ANNBMC) simulation of random processes and artificial neural networks (ANN) model which were validated using experimental data obtained from functioning crude oil distillation column of Port-Harcourt Refinery, Nigeria by MATLAB computer program. Ninety percent (90%) of the experimental data sets were used for training while ten percent (10%) were used for testing the networks. The maximum relative errors between the experimental and calculated data obtained from the output variables of the neural network for CODC design were 1.98 error % and 0.57 error % when ANN only and ANNBMC were used respectively while their respective values for the maximum relative error were 0.346 error % and 0.124 error % when they were used for the controller prediction. Larger number of iteration steps of below 2500 and 5000 were required to achieve convergence of less than 10-7?for the training error using ANNBMC for both the design of the CODC and controller respectively while less than 400 and 700 iteration steps were needed to achieve convergence of 10-4?using ANN only. The linear regression analysis performed revealed the minimum and maximum prediction accuracies to be 80.65% and 98.79%;and 98.38% and 99.98% when ANN and ANNBMC were used for the CODC design respectively. Also, the minimum and maximum prediction accuracies were 92.83% and 99.34%;and 98.89% and 99.71% when ANN and ANNBMC were used for the CODC controller respectively as both methodologies have excellent predictions. Hence, artificial neural networks based Monte Carlo simulation is an effective and better tool for the design and control of crude oil distillation column.
