摘要：The architecture of and the corresponding control algorithm for a devised optical cross-connect, limited- range wavelength converision wavelength interchangeable cross-connect （L-WIXC）, are presented. The performances of L-WIXC including blocking probability, switching time, and throughput are simulated. Cost comparison with wavelength selective cross-connect （WSXC） and WIXC is calculated. Key optical parameters, such as crosstalk, eye diagram, bit error rate, and linear Q factor, are measured and discussed.

摘要：We present a new structure of nearly-zero flattened dispersion and highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber （PCF） in the telecommunication window. This fiber design is comprised of a hybrid-core region with bismuth-doped region in the center and three lower bismuth-doped regions in the first ring that enables dispersion control while maintaining a high nonlinear coefficient. Numerical analysis results show that the proposed PCF is achieved with a nonlinear coefficient of about 3301 W ^-1 km^-1, a dispersion value of about 0.5537 ps/（***） at 1550 nm, and nearly-zero flattened dispersion fluctuating within 2.5 ps/（***） ranging from 1.496 to 1.596 μm.

摘要：We propose a new structure of broadband nearly-zero flattened dispersion highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber （PCF）. Through optimizing the diameters of the first two inner rings of air-holes and the GeO2 doping concentration of the core, the nonlinear coefficient is up to 47 W^-***^-1 at the wavelength of 1.55 um and nearly-zero flattened dispersion of ±0.5 ps/（nm·km） is achieved in the telecommunication window （1460 - 1625 nm）. Due to the use of GeO2-doped core, this innovative structure can offer not only a large nonlinear coefficient and broadband nearly-zero flattened dispersion but also low leakage losses.

摘要：We propose a novel optical polarizer based on an asymmetric dual-core photonic crystal fiber(PCF) with triangular lattice *** fiber is designed as that the effective indices of modes in the two cores are matched at one polarized state but mismatched at another polarized *** a result,one of the polarization states is coupled to the other core and transferred into a high-order *** transmission properties of the polarizer are investigated by the semi-vectorial beam propagation method(SV-BPM).Numerical results demonstrate that a device length of 11.3 mm shows extinction ratio as low as-20 dB with bandwidth as great as 80 nm ranging from 1.51 mm to 1.59 mm.

摘要：The effective index of the cladding fundamental space-filling mode in photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is simulated by the effective index method. The variation of the effective index with the structure parameters of the fiber is achieved. For the first time, the relations of the V parameter of Yb3+-doped PCF with the refractive index of core and the structure parameters of the fiber are provided. the single-mode characteristics of large-core Yb3+-doped photonic crystal fibers with 7 and 19 missing air holes in the core are analyzed. The large-core single-mode Yb3+-doped photonic crystal fibers with core diameters of 50 μm, 100 μm and 150 μm are designed. The results provide theory instruction for the design and fabrication of fiber.
