摘要：The dynamic analysis and optimal design of reactive extraction are challenging due to high nonlinearity of model equations and tough decision of judging criteria. In this work, a dynamic rate-based method is developed on g PROMS platform to get easy access to the solutions of reactive extraction with phase splitting. Based on rigorous criteria, dynamic analysis from initial state to final equilibrium(e.g., evolution of phase composition, mass transfer rate and reaction rate) and optimal design of operating conditions(e.g., extractant dosage and feed molar ratio) are achieved. To illustrate the method, the esterification of n-hexyl acetate is taken as an example. The approach proves to be reliable in the analysis and optimization of the exemplified system, which provides instructive reference for further process design and simulation of reactive extraction.

摘要：This paper presents the implementation of two multicriteria optimization methods based on different approaches, namely, Rough Set Method (RSM) and Net Flow Method (NFM), to the manufacture by reactive extrusion of linear thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), appropriate for medical applications. A preliminary study allowed determining the process operating conditions for which the polymerization time and the average residence time of the reactants in the extruder are of the same order of magnitude. Prior to the optimization, a neural network model able to predict with acceptable accuracy the effect of the operating conditions on the output process variables, was constructed and validated. This model was then used to determine, using Pareto’s concept, a set of non-dominated solutions constituting Pareto’s domain. These solutions were then ranked according to the preferences of a decision maker using NFM and RSM. This allowed providing the 10% highest ranked solutions of Pareto’s domain and proposing a set of optimal operating conditions for the production, with the lowest energy consumption, of TPUs with targeted properties and high purity. Experimental validation runs carried out under similar operating conditions gave rise to criteria values confirming the su- perior performance of NFM, without rejecting, at the same time, the values obtained using RSM.

摘要：Scavenging reactive oxygen species(ROS) by antioxidants is the important therapy to cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury(CIRI) in stroke. The antioxidant with novel dual-antioxidant mechanism of directly scavenging ROS and indirectly through antioxidant pathway activation may be a promising CIRI therapeutic strategy. In our study, a series of chalcone analogues were designed and synthesized, and multiple potential chalcone analogues with dual antioxidant mechanisms were screened. Among these compounds, the most active 33 not only conferred cytoprotection of H2 O2-induced oxidative damage in PC12 cells through scavenging free radicals directly and activating NRF2/ARE antioxidant pathway at the same time, but also played an important role against ischemia/reperfusion-related brain injury in animals. More importantly, in comparison with mono-antioxidant mechanism compounds, 33 exhibited higher cytoprotective and neuroprotective potential in vitro and in vivo. Overall, our findings showed compound 33 couldemerge as a promising anti-ischemic stroke drug candidate and provided novel dual-antioxidant mechanism strategies and concepts for oxidative stress-related diseases treatment.
