摘要：road horizontal alignment contains three elements: straight line,circular arc,and *** AutoCAD,clothoid can only be fitted by polyline or spline,and the graphics which are separated from the road data are independent of each ***,it is necessary to develop a new curve for road horizontal ***,the differential approximation and series integration methods for clothoid were ***,the geometric formulae for road line which contain the three elements were derived as a ***,the advantages and feasibility of customizing a road line class,which was derived from the curve base class,were analyzed based on ObjectARX(AutoCAD Runtime eXtension) ***,the data structure and operations for the road line class were *** experimental results show that the road line can integrate the road elements,graphics and data to implement the graphics-oriented design,which can be widely used in road alignment design.

摘要：In order to have an in-depth understanding of road runoff characteristics and the linkages to their influential factors this paper investigates the road runoff quality in a city of South China *** rainfall events with different characteristics are monitored on a typical urban *** is noted that the road runoff quality is worse than Grade Ⅳ of environmental quality standards for surface *** means that the road runoff has posed a serious risk to water environment health. Furthermore the research outcomes indicate that first flush highly varies with rainfall patterns and pollutant *** means that for road runoff treatment design rainfall patterns as well as pollutant species should be taken into consideration and this is particularly essential to design first flush capturing devices. Additionally the threshold of an initial 3 to 5 mm rainfall depth is suggested to the first flush capturing device *** results provide useful suggestions to the effective road runoff treatment design.

摘要：In recent years, road accident fatalities in Nigeria have continued to be on the increase. Thus, urgent attention is needed to reduce or eliminate road accidents fatalities. To achieve this goal, the cumulative sum (Cusum) control chart scheme was designed for monitoring the road accident fatalities using the recorded occurrence of road accident fatalities in a state in the western part of Nigeria. The designed Cusum detects the period of the years when the highest occurrence of road accident fatalities occurred. These periods were observed to be festive periods such as Christmas, Easter, Eid-el- Kabir, and Eid-el-Moluod. Therefore, the festive periods of the year should be used as benchmark by road managers as periods where more attention or precaution measure should be put in place on the roads to drastically reduce or eliminate high occurrence of road accident fatalities. The designed Cusum control chart can be adapted for other states in the country and also for the larger society for detecting the periods when the rate of death as a result of road accidents was prevalent.
