摘要：Guided mode resonant filters （GMRFs） for authentication application with low sideband reflection at 0^o and 90^o azimuthal angles were designed. Using rigorous coupled-wave analysis, the diffractive characteristics of this kind device with different illumination angles, groove depths, and thicknesses of cover SiO2 layer were investigated. The structure of GMRF which satisfies the requirements for authentication applications was obtained. Illuminated at 30^o for a definite polarization mode, the filter presents symmetrical reflectance shape, low sideband reflectance, two separate reflectance peaks, and definite full-width at halfmaximum （FWHM） at 0^o and 90^o azimuthal angles.

摘要：Collaborative platform on clustering applications for governments consists of six large-scale systems, including the clustering Government Internet portal system, clustering public-mailboxes collaboration system, clustering government affairs portal system, clustering emergency information collaboration system, clustering office automation collaboration system, and clustering messages collaboration systems. The appli-cation and technology architectures of the collaborative platform are elaborated in this paper,and the major key technologies on the platform are also expounded, which includes realization of many governments ap-plications’ scale integration and collaborative application, business model driven software development plat-form based on SOA, SSO, tans-departmental and cross-level multi-engine clustering protocol. Based on the "clustering application"design, to maximize the utilization of hardware, software resources and administra-tive resources of the provincial government collaborative platform, rural districts and counties can build their own platforms based on the provincial platform. The platform having been running for over 2 years shows that planning of urban and rural e-governments’ construction and maintenance is achieved, thus reducing costs greatly and improving governments’ functions.

摘要：Chirality is a unique phenomenon in nature. Chiral interactions play an important role in biological and physiological process- es, which provides much inspiration for scientists to develop cbiral materials. As a breakthrough from traditional materials, bi- ointerface materials based on chiral polymers have attracted increasing interest over the past few years. Such materials ele- gantly combine the advantages of chiral surfaces and traditional polymers, and provide a novel solution not only for the inves- tigation of chiral interaction mechanisms but also for the design of biomaterials with diverse applications, such as in tissue en- gineering and biocompatible materials, bioregulation, chiral separation and chiral sensors. Herein, we summarize recent ad- vances in the study of chiral effects and applications of chiral polymer-based biointerface materials, and also present some challenges and perspectives.

摘要：The 2012 American Presidential Election was preceded by widespread efforts to promote stronger voting requirements in states across the nation. In one case, a private, anonymous foundation purchased advertising spots on billboards in urban Ohio to communicate that voter fraud is a felony punishable by fines and imprisonment. This action drew criticism from civil rights groups, who argued that a majority of the billboards were located in minority census tracts, and that the advertisements utilized intimidating language and imagery. This article applies probability theory to the debate in order to determine the likelihood that the observed patterns of billboards in two cities—Cleveland and Columbus—could have occurred by chance. First, simulation is employed to compare the observed allocations of billboards to white and non-white census tracts to patterns generated under Complete Spatial Randomness (CSR). Second, simulation draws from probit regression models, in which the dependent variable is the presence of a billboard within a census tract, are used to generate distributions of first differences between1) the expected value of the dependent variable given that the census tract is majority white and2) the expected value of the dependent variable given that the census tract is majority non-white. The results suggest that the billboard locations in Cleveland were not significantly different from patterns produced under CSR, and that the probability of a given census tract containing a billboard is not significantly different for white and non-white majority tracts. The opposite inferences are made for Columbus.

摘要：Carbon nanotubes(CNTs) have received broad attention in the past decades due to their excellent physical and chemical properties and thus been regarded as a powerful candidate for future star-materials. Although various CNT products and their related applications have been demonstrated recently, their performance can hardly meet the researchers’ expectations compared with their theoretical properties. The current predicament is caused by the immature synthesis method, including the basic science and the producing technology. As the synthesis with controlled structures determines its future, this review summarizes the progress on the basic research and industrialization of CNTs in the past decades, including the fine structure control, aggregation status design and scale-up production, and further points out the way for the future development of CNTs combining with specific applications.
