摘要：A design method of the apodizing functions for guided-wave four-port electrooptic tunable filter (EOTF) is proposed. As an example, the specific form of Gaussian apodizing function is designed by analyzing the crosstalk performance of EOTF. crosstalk is calculated based on the transient response of the filter to an input optical pulse. It is concluded that crosstalk level below -30 dB for 20-Gb/s data rates and 100-GHz channel spacing is achievable with presently available substrate dimensions.

摘要：This essay designed a kind of new seven-core fiber with lower crosstalk and loss, and made space division multiplexing transmission experiment based on this seven-core fiber. It is known that crosstalk has the most serious influence in multicore fiber transmission process. Before the experiment, the affecting factors of fiber crosstalk were analyzed through simulation, such as core space, bending radius, and fiber length. Combined with the simulation analysis, the design scheme of multicore fiber with low crosstalk was obtained. Before the fiber design, various factors of influence crosstalk such as the core- to-core distance, bending radius, fiber length and so on. Based on the simulation analysis, conclusion has made on the design scheme of multi-core optimal fiber with low crosstalk. The space division multiplexing and wavelength division multiplexing technology, was adopted to conduct seven-core optical fiber transmission of *** crosstalk of adjacent core was suppressed to as low as 45dB / km, the attenuation of inner core was 0.24dB/ km, the outer cores＇ 0.32dB/km. Different bit error rate （BER） performances were also studied under different conditions, through reasonably designing the system to reduce the error rate, improve the performance of the system, and realize long distance and large capacity transmission with fiber.

摘要：The design and fabrication processes of a novel scanner with minimized coupling motions for a high-speed atomic force microscope （AFM） were addressed. An appropriate design modification was proposed through the analyses of the dynamic characteristics of existing linear motion stages using a dynamic analysis program, Recurdyn. Because the scanning speed of each direction may differ, the linear motion stage for a high-speed scanner was designed to have different resonance frequencies for the modes, with one dominant displacement in the desired directions. This objective was achieved by using one-direction flexure mechanisms for each direction and mounting one stage for fast motion on the other stage for slow motion. This unsymmetrical configuration separated the frequencies of two vibration modes with one dominant displacement in each desired direction, and hence suppressed the coupling between motions in two directions. A pair of actuators was used for each axis to decrease the crosstalk between the two motions and give a sufficient force to actuate the slow motion stage, which carried the fast motion stage, A lossy material, such as grease, was inserted into the flexure hinge to suppress vibration problems that occurred when using an input triangular waveforrn. With these design modifications and the vibration suppression method, a novel scanner with a scanning speed greater than 20 Hz is achieved.

摘要：A polymer directional coupler （DC） electro-optic switch with push-pull electrodes and rib waveguides is designed based on the conformal transforming method, image method, coupled mode theory, and electro-optic modulation theory. Its structure and principle are described, the design and optimization are performed, and the characteristics are analyzed, including the coupling length, switching voltage, output power, insertion loss, and crosstalk. To realize normal switching function,the fabrication tolerance,wavelength shift, and coupling loss between a single mode fiber （SMF） and the waveguide are discussed. Simulation results show that the coupling length is 3082μm; the push-pull switching voltage is 2.14V;and the insertion loss and crosstalk are less than 1.14 and -30dB,respectively. The proposed analytical technique on waveguides and electrodes is proven to be accurate and computationally efficient when compared with the beam propa- gation method （BPM） and the experimental results.

摘要：An efficient technique is used to flatten the spectral response of an arrayed waveguide grating （AWG） multiplexer. By subtracting an increment from the core width of odd arrayed waveguides and by adding the same increment to that of even arrayed waveguides,a box-like spectral response can be obtained. A 17 × 17 polymer AWG multiplexer with box- like spectral response has been made using FPE polymer materials. Measured result for the AWG shows that the box-like spectral response has a 3dB bandwidth of 0. 476nm, the crosstalk is about or less than - 21dB for every output channel,and the insertion loss is 13-15dB.
