摘要：A new fabrication technology for three-dimensionally buried silica on silicon optical waveguide based on deep etching and thermal oxidation is presented. Using this method, a silicon layer is left at the side of waveguide. The stress distribution and effective refractive index are calculated by using finite element method and finite different beam propagation method, respectively. The results indicate that the stress of silica on silicon optical waveguide fabricated by this method can be matched in parallel and vertical directions and stress birefringence can be effectively reduced due to the side-silicon layer.

摘要：A scheme for general purposed FDTD visual scientific computing software is introduced in this paper using object-oriented design (OOD) method. By abstracting the parameters of FDTD grids to an individual class and separating from the iteration procedure, the visual software can be adapted to more comprehensive computing problems. Real-time gray degree graphic and wave curve of the results can be achieved using DirectX technique. The special difference equation and data structure in dispersive medium are considered, and the peculiarity of parameters in perfectly matched layer are also discussed.

摘要：In order to reduce transmission loss of the optical waveguide in Mach-Zehnder (M-Z) electro-optical (EO) polymer modulator,the basic iterative formula of semi-vector finite-difference beam propagation method (FD-BPM) is obtained from the scalar wave equation. The transition waveguide is combined with S-type bend branch waveguide for the M-Z EO modulator in the branch waveguide. The effects of structure parameters such as ridge width,length of the branch waveguide and interferometer spacing on the transmission loss are systematically studied by using the semi-vector FD-BPM method. The structure is optimized as an S-sine bend branch waveguide,with rib width w=7μm,length of branch waveguide L=1200μm and interferometer spacing G=22 μm. The results show that the optimized structure can reduce transmission loss to 0.083 dB,which have a certain reference value to the design of optical waveguide in M-Z polymer modulator.

摘要：Considering the coupled heat transfer effect induced by parallel cross-river road tunnels, the long-term soil temperature variations of shallow sections of cross-river tunnels under the river beach are predicted using the finite difference method for numerical simulation. The boundary conditions and the initial values are determined by in situ observations and numerical *** simulation results indicate that the ultimate calculated steady heat transfer time is 68 years, and most of the heat transfer is completed in 20 *** initial constant temperature soil surrounding the tunnels is transformed to an annually variable *** obvious temperature-varying region of the surrounding soil is discovered within 5 m from the tunnel exterior, as well as within the entire range of soil between the two *** maximum temperature increase value reaches 7.14 ℃ and the maximum peak-to-valley value of annual temperature increase reaches 10 ℃.The temperature variation of soils surrounding tunnels below 10 m is completely controlled by the heat transfer from the *** coupled heat transfer effect is confirmed because the ultimate steady temperature of soil between the two tunnels is higher than the ones along other ***, the regression model comprising a series of univariate functions is proposed for the annual soil temperature fluctuation estimation for the locations varied distances around the *** investigation is beneficial to gain an insight into the long-term variation tendencies of local engineering geological conditions of the river beach above shallow sections of the cross-river road tunnels.

摘要：The paper introduces a method for displaying cubic volume cells (voxels) resulting frompartitioning given objectS with orthogonal planes for finite difference calculation. The method representS ablock of voxels as a B-rep solid model and conStrUcts the B-rep geometric clementS with an approach frombottom to up. Once the B-rep model is established, it is efficient in displaying because inner voxels areomitted and many coplanar facetS are merged together. By displaying the interSeCtion lines of theconstructed B-reP model and the partitioning planes, the tessellation image can be generated.

摘要：Induction heating of steel in continuous casting/rolling process is an important means to reduce energy consumption, decrease cost and improve efficiency, thus becoming an attractive research direction. A mathematical model with finite difference method （FDM） was developed to describe the electromagnetic field and predict the temperature distribution in the steel slab for the whole induction heating process. To validate feasibility of the model, computational results were compared with the ANSYS simulation results. According to the comparing results, the temperature distributions of the slab cast under different technical parameters were investigated, which may provide useful information to optimize the parameters of technology in heating process.
