摘要:The failure of an oxygen pump inducer during a test run was found to be the result of flow induced vibration. Oscillating fluid mechanics theory was used to determine the oscillating flow field around the inducer for various external oscillating perturbation frequencies. Enormous pressures can occur at some frequencies, which are sufficient to break the inducer. Some design changes were analyzed to improve the flow induced vibration characteristics.
