摘要：landscape design for a green community should be favorable for the ambient ecological environment and for enhancement of both the local climate of a residential area and the environmental quality of life. This paper presents optimization methods for plant landscape design that take account of results of comparisons of noise reduction effects, heat island temperature decreases and effects on ventilation. These methods are based on different plant configurations and various luminous environments, such as exterior sunshine and shaded areas after the simulation of exterior luminous, acoustic and thermal environments of a residential area using the analytic software ECOTECT, CADNA/A, and PHEONICS. Three different types of residential buildings are simulated including a faculty apartment in the Xixi Campus of Zhejiang University, the Huaqing Villa and the Gangwan Jiayuan faculty apartment of Zhejiang University, China, based on green building design theory. In addition, the methods and process flow of landscape design of green residential areas are also described for the improvement of the exterior physical living environment.

摘要：Approaches of external landscape design for affordable housing were discussed through analyzing the landscape designs of Yuxing Homeland in Shanghai City. By adopting simple landscape elements, following the design principle of 'natural, simple and comfortable', proceeding from the overall concept, a space for neighbors’ communication with pleasant environment and outstanding functions was created, a harmonious living environment was built, and the optimal landscape benefits were obtained.

摘要：As new tourism products, recreational theme parks bring tourists comprehensive recreation experience and new tourism experience. Such theme parks usually have two functional attributes: urban parks and theme rides. Happy World of Dongting Lake in Junshan District, Yueyang City was selected for research to explore the design concept, site selection, overall layout, and functional zoning of recreational theme parks and expound the design of important attractions and the construction of plant landscape. It is hoped that this paper will be a reference point for the design of the same type theme parks.

摘要：In order to receive a licence to produce, poultry farmers have to take into account societal demands, among others： animal welfare, healthy working conditions for the workers and landscape quality. A way to reach a combination of these goals is to create a design for the poultry house and outdoor run. We propose a methodology based on five steps, which enables us to create a design that takes into consideration societal demands and that can be tested on its effects. These five steps are： 1. Giving a theoretical background on the societal demands （hen ethology, farm management and landscape quality） and based on this; 2. Giving a set of design criteria. 3. Describing the cttrrent state of the farm, in order to know its current qualities, 4. Making a design of the farm using the sets of criteria as guiding principle. 5. Reflecting on the design, to show whether the different criteria can be combined and where compromises are needed. A case study on an organic farm in the centre of the Netherlands showed that hen welfare, farm management and landscape quality can be improved together, although some measures do not add to all design criteria. Especially the effect on landscape quality and farm management is variable： the latter is also depending on the personal motivation of the farmer.
