摘要：For reverse engineering a CAD model, it is necessary to integrate measured points from several views of an object into a common reference frame. Given a rough initial alignment of point cloud in different views with point-normal method, further refinement is achieved by using an improved iterative closest point (ICP) algorithm. Compared with other methods used for mult-view registration, this approach is automatic because no geometric feature, such as line, plane or sphere needs to be extracted from the original point cloud manually. A good initial alignment can be acquired automatically and the registration accuracy and efficiency is proven better than the normal point-point ICP algorithm both experimentally and theoretically.

摘要：reverse engineering in the manufacturing field is a process in which the digitized data are obtained from an existing object model or a part of it, and then the CAD model is reconstructed. This paper presents an RBF neural network approach to modify and fit the digitized data. The centers for the RBF are selected by using the orthogonal least squares learning algorithm. A mathematically known surface is used for generating a number of samples for training the networks. The trained networks then generated a number of new points which were compared with the calculating points from the equations. Moreover, a series of practice digitizing curves are used to test the approach. The results showed that this approach is effective in modifying and fitting digitized data and generating data points to reconstruct the surface model.

摘要：reverse engineering dealing with images is traditionally based on image processing and contour recognition. A new method is presented based on the combination of sectional slicing with image mosaic. Sectional contours of the target object are generated by colorful liquid or laser scanning, these images from different views are fused into a set of complete cross-sectional images, thereby the whole practical model is reconstructed in 3D space.

摘要：the reconstruction of transition surface is one of time consuming activities during surface modeling in reverse engineering. Yet currently available software applications suffer from shortcoming in processing the connection among free form surfaces. In this paper, a new method is put forward combining Surfacer with Unigraphics to resolve this problem: Curves and surfaces are first constructed in Surfacer, then, the finished data is imported into Unigraphics based on IGES fonnat. At last, the transition surface can be reconstructed in Unigraphics. The application of this method in transition surface reconstruction is illustrated by means of two case studies, showing the connection between free form surfaces; filleting and rounding among multiple surfaces: transition surface between two sets of surfaces.

摘要：The purpose of reverse engineering is to convert a large point cloud into a CAD model. In reverse engineering, the key issue is segmentation, i.e. studying how to subdivide the point cloud into smaller regions, where each of them can be approximated by a single surface. Segmentation is relatively simple, if regions are bounded by sharp edges and small blends; problems arise when smoothly connected regions need to be separated. In this paper, a modified self-organizing feature map neural network （SOFM） is used to solve segmentation problem. Eight dimensional feature vectors （3-dimensional coordinates, 3-dimensional normal vectors, Gaussian curvature and mean curvature） are taken as input for SOFM. The weighted Euclidean distance measure is used to improve segmentation result. The method not only can deal with regions bounded by sharp edges, but also is very efficient to separating smoothly connected regions. The segmentation method using SOFM is robust to noise, and it operates directly on the point cloud. An examples is given to show the effect of SOFM algorithm.

摘要：Acquisition of physical data with high precision is a key step in reverse engineering (RE). It is an important stimulative for the progress of reverse engineering with which various digitizing devices are invent ed, developed and made applicable. This paper introduces a three dimensional opt ical measurement method based on digital fringe projection technique in RE to im prove the technique through its application. A practical example is presented an d the result demonstrates the applicability and feasibility of the measurement s ystem as well as the reliability and validity of relevant methods and algorithms .

摘要：The fore claws of the nymph of Cryptotympana atrata have excellent ability to cut and dig soil. Inspired by this, we designed a biomimetic stubble cutter to reduce the cutting resistance. reverse engineering and 3D print technology were applied to design the biomimetic stubble cutter. Two types of biomimetic corn stubble cutters with different tooth heights （5 mm and 2.5 mm） were designed. The cutting ability of biomimetic corn stubble cutters was compared to the conventional design by the quadratic regression orthogonal test. Tooth height, dip angle of cutting edge, and cutting velocity were chosen as orthogonal test factors. The biomimetic stubble cutters show lower cutting resistance than the conventional one. Cutting velocity exerts the least effect on cutting resistance, followed by tooth height and dip angle of cutting edge. Optimal combination with the least cutting resistance is tooth height of 2.5 mm and dip angle of cutting edge of 40° while the cutting resistance does not vary remarkably with cutting velocity. Test results indicate the serrated structure design as a principal factor for cutting resistance reduction. The biomimetic stubble cutter design, inspired by the soil-cutting mechanism of Cryptotympana atrata nymph, remarkably improves the performance of stubble cutter.

摘要：Wind machines have been increasingly applied to prevent frost damage through airflow disturbance in tea fields and *** impeller is the most important component of the ***,there are few studies on customized impeller design or airflow disturbance *** objective of this study was to design a new impeller for frost protection wind machines based on reverse engineering and CFD *** characteristic parameters of an impeller include blade cross-section shape,installation angle,sweep angle,hub ratio and blade *** optimal combination of the above parameters was obtained through the simulation of the impeller’s aerodynamic *** tests were conducted in a tea field to evaluate airflow disturbance performance of the designed *** result shows that at a certain rotation speed and rotation diameter,the optimal combination of impeller parameters was:single arc cross-section ofϕ2400 mm,installation angle of 15°,sweep angle of 87°,hub ratio of 0.3 and blade number of 4,of which the impeller could achieve the highest usage of 0.56,the least consumed power of 1.363 kW and more uniform distribution of surface pressure on the windward *** with other commercial frost protection wind machines,the maximum airflow velocity of the developed impeller was higher at 12 m in front of *** probability of airflow velocity above 3.0 m/s within 30 min was the highest(71.7%),indicating its improvement of airflow *** swing the new impeller could cover an effective area of 300 m2,which was similar to that of the commercial ones.

摘要：A method of 3D model reconstruction based on scattered point data in reverse engineering is presented here. The topological relationship of scattered points was established firstly, then the data set was triangulated to reconstruct the mesh surface model. The curvatures of cloud data were calculated based on the mesh surface, and the point data were segmented by edge-based method; Every patch of data was fitted by quadric surface of freeform surface, and the type of quadric surface was decided by parameters automatically, at last the whole CAD model was created. An example of mouse model was employed to confirm the effect of the algorithm.

摘要：A 3D probe used for NC\|copying process is proposed in the paper. The construction of parallel springs is adopted in the probe. It has compact structure and little volume. By adjusting spring force and improving sensitivity, the probe can be used in CMM. Errors of the probe are analysed. Performances of the probe are verified by test of measuring force, verification of precision of single axis and plane precision.
