摘要：A central goal of synthetic biology is to apply successful principles that have been developed in electronic and chemical engineering to construct basic biological functional modules, and through rational design, to build synthetic biological systems with predetermined functions. Here, we apply the reverse engineering design principle of biological networks to synthesize a gene circuit that executes semi-log dose-response, a logarithmically linear sensing function, in Escherichia coil cells. We first mathematically define the object function semi-log dose-response, and then search for tri-node network topologies that can most robustly execute the object function. The simplest topology, transcriptional coherent feed-forward loop （TCFL）, among the searching results is mathematically analyzed; we find that, in TCFL topology, the semi-log dose-response function arises from the additive effect of logarithmical linearity intervals of Hill functions. TCFL is then genetically implemented in E. coil as a logarithmically linear sensing biosensor for heavy metal ions [mercury （II）]. Functional characterization shows that this rationally designed biosensor circuit works as expected. Through this study we demonstrated the potential application of biological network reverse engineering to broaden the computational power of synthetic biology.

摘要：An improved self-organizing feature map (SOFM) neural network is presented to generate rectangular and hexagonal lattic with normal vector attached to each vertex. After the neural network was trained, the whole scattered data were divided into sub-regions where classified core were represented by the weight vectors of neurons at the output layer of neural network. The weight vectors of the neurons were used to approximate the dense 3-D scattered points, so the dense scattered points could be reduced to a reasonable scale, while the topological feature of the whole scattered points were remained.

摘要：With layer-measured contours, an algorithm that can extract the contour segments from a rotational surface is presented. The extraction can be divided into two stages, i. e. the rough segmentation and the refinement. In the rough segmenting stage, an optimal contour matching method is put forward to find similar contour segment from another closed contour with respect to the seed contour. In the refining stage, an iterative way that can extract a circular arc precisely is presented based on parameters identification and contour-ends expanding/shrinking operation. The algorithm can extract the open contour segments from a rotational surface precisely, as demonstrated in the examples. Based on the work of this paper, further research, such as parameter identification of 3 - D surface and CAD model creation, can be conducted.

摘要：Visual method is now broadly used in reverse engineering for 3D reconstruction. The traditional computer vision methods are feature-based, i.e., they require that the objects must reveal features owing to geometry or textures. For textureless free-form surfaces, dense feature points are added artificially. In this paper, a new method is put forward combining computer vision with CAGD. The surface is subdivided into N-side Gregory patches using marked curves, and a stereo algorithm is used to reconstruct the curves. Then, the cross boundary tangent vector is computed through reflectance analysis. At last, the whole surface can be reconstructed by jointing these patches with 1Gcontinuity.

摘要：As one of the oldest creatures on the earth, the tortoises have formed a nearly perfect shell structure after millions of years of evolution In this paper, Chinese tortoise shell is studied. Firstly, the scanning model of the tortoise shell is established by means of computer tomography （CT） scanning technology and MIMICS software. Secondly, the solid model of three-dimensional structure of the tortoise shell is constructed by using geomagic studio reverse engineering software. Afterwards, the compression numerical simulation of the tortoise shell structure under low strain rate is conducted with the help of finite element software LS-DYNA. Finally, load-bearing characteristics of the tortoise shell structure and dome-shaped structure are compared and analyzed. The results show that compared withthe dome-shaped structure with the same volume, tortoise shell structure has a higher structural rigidity and can withstand higher pressure. Therefore, tortoise shell structure provide some reference to the design of armored vehicles, sheltersand other types of thin shell structures.
