摘要：Concern of emotion and emotional motivation are the basis of language and literature context, and it is also the basis for the social domain of discourse related to the human culture. The traditional Chinese literature and the modern literature are both the carrier and manifestation of the mass emotional context. Besides, emotional context is also the one and only culture route and popularization route of the national revival. Emotional context shoulders the responsibility of literature and the value of critical comments.

摘要：At present, the inner cutters of a full face rock tunnel boring machine (TBM) and transition cutter edge angles are designed on the basis of indentation test or linear grooving test. The inner and outer edge angles of disc cutters are characterized as symmetric to each other with respect to the cutter edge plane. This design has some practical defects, such as severe eccentric wear and tipping, etc. In this paper, the current design theory of disc cutter edge angle is analyzed, and the characteristics of the rock-breaking movement of disc cutters are studied. The researching results show that the rotational motion of disc cutters with the cutterhead gives rise to the difference between the interactions of inner rock and outer rock with the contact area of disc cutters, with shearing and extrusion on the inner rock and attrition on the outer rock. The wear of disc cutters at the contact area is unbalanced, among which the wear in the largest normal stress area is most apparent. Therefore, a three-dimensional model theory of rock breaking and an edge angle design theory of transition disc cutter are proposed to overcome the flaws of the currently used TBM cutter heads, such as short life span, camber wearing, tipping. And a corresponding equation is established. With reference to a specific construction case, the edge angle of the transition disc cutter has been designed based on the theory. The application of TBM in some practical project proves that the theory has obvious advantages in enhancing disc cutter life, decreasing replacement frequency, and making economic benefits. The proposed research provides a theoretical basis for the design of TBM three-dimensional disc cutters whose rock-breaking operation time can be effectively increased.

摘要：Tian Han is well-known for writing realistic and revolutionary works in modem Chinese literature, but his early dramatic works are full of Western aesthetic decadence which values ＂art is for art＇s sake.＂ He was strongly influenced by Oscar Wilde and his Salome, which can be found from his translating Salome to directing it performed on the Chinese stage, and to his own drama writing in 1920s. He did his best to balance art and life in his dramatic works in order to make them accepted by the masses in China. However, in 1930 he declared in his Self-criticism Directed at Ourselves that he would give up writing the aesthetic and decadent literary works and transfer to ＂art is for life＇s sake.＂ The conflict between art and life through his works and theories demonstrates his complex about Salome.

摘要：美国著名作家威廉·福克纳在其代表作《喧哗与骚动》中对句式进行了大胆实验,其中最突出的是大量使用"长句"。本文分析了《喧哗与骚动》中长句的特点及其功能,认为,福克纳大量使用长句的目的是为了在一个句子里表达尽量多的内容,使之达到饱和状态,同时也是为了取得一种连绵(continuity)和流动(fluidity)的关学效果。这些长句子也是福克纳认为世间万物存在着千丝万缕的联系的观点的具体体现。本文认为,福克纳《喧哗与骚动》中的长句特质并非像有的评论家认为的那样,是因为他没有受过良好教育,而是他对艺术创新孜孜追求、精心设计的结果。

摘要：This article relates and reflects on my teaching experience spanning from spring 2009 through spring 2013, when I was engaged in constructing and reconstructing a course called ＂Reading Bestsellers.＂ Principles were altered for the course design virtually each semester, starting from an attempt to offer variety in readings, undergoing a plan to downsize the reading list for neatness, and then a challenge to seek a balance between fiction and nonfiction. Despite the change of the principles, one principle has remained unchanged-the overarching principle of trial and error. Given this general guidance, I have reconstructed the course with a choice of high-end bestsellers. I have become aware that there should have been less concern about the boundaries between fiction and nonfiction than about the need to defy narrow categorization whenever necessary. Academic neatness may be desirable but impossible to tackle in-between intricacy, which proves to be the essence of life, and for that matter, the very essence of literature.

摘要：Although investigating metaphors in advertising is gaining in popularity, there are still certain unresolved arguments, such as the interaction between elements of different modalities. This study,composed of three behavioral experiments, aims to identify how verbal anchoring(literal anchoring, metaphor anchoring and unrelated anchoring) influences the processing of pictorial metaphors in advertising, by observing the cognitive and affective indicators, advertising comprehension and advertising likeability. The results showed 1) that metaphors in pictorial modality were recognized more quickly than those in verbal modality, 2) that verbal anchoring facilitated participants ’ comprehending and appreciating of pictorial metaphors and 3) that literally-anchored metaphors with a moderate level of novelty yielded the most favorable cognitive responses. The study not only enriches the existing theoretical framework of multimodal metaphors in advertising, but also proposes an optimal match between pictorial metaphors and verbal elements, for advertisers and manufacturers to design effective multimodal advertisements.

摘要：Pragmatic vagueness is a manifestation that language has elasticity and is one of attributes of nature language. Pragmatic vagueness phenomenon exists in news report, law version and commerce report. Nowadays in adverting creations, advertisers take pragmatic vagueness as the strategy in order to make the most effective to strengthen the advertising attention, memory and persuasion in the limited time and space. At the same time, the pragmatic vagueness strategy also strengthens the advertising flexibility and appropriateness, compresses information and produces advertising aesthetic effect. In most circumstances, advertising companies use pragmatic vagueness to realize their advertising purpose and pragmatic vagueness offers strangely psychological hint to customers. This paper will firstly state pragmatic vagueness and advertising activities, and then analysis the function of pragmatic vagueness in advertisements.
