摘要：Supersaturated designs are factorial designs in which the number of main effects is greater than the number of experimental runs. In this paper, a discrete discrepancy is proposed as a measure of uniformity for supersaturated designs, and a lower bound of this discrepancy is obtained asa benchmark of design uniformity. A construction method for uniform supersaturated designs via resolvable balanced incomplete block designs is also presented along with the investigation of properties of the resulting designs. The construction method shows a strong link between these two different kinds of designs.

摘要：The monotone variational inequalities VI（Ω, F） have vast applications, including optimal controls and convex programming. In this paper we focus on the VI problems that have a particular splitting structure and in which the mapping F does not have an explicit form, therefore only its function values can be employed in the numerical methods for solving such problems. We study a set of numerical methods that are easily implementable. Each iteration of the proposed methods consists of two procedures. The first （prediction） procedure utilizes alternating projections to produce a predictor. The second （correction） procedure generates the new iterate via some minor computations. Convergence of the proposed methods is proved under mild conditions. Preliminary numerical experiments for some traffic equilibrium problems illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

摘要：Pedestrians intercepted near the exits of a subway station in downtown hong kong were surveyed using a questionnaire and quota sampling in October 2012. The survey sampled 408 residents and tourists aged 16 and above. The awareness of the 16 ads. ranged from 18 to 80 percent with an average 43.5 percent. The layouts of the two subway ads. received highest awareness were focused and had a clear distinction between foreground and background. Average ad awareness was comparable to that reported in two similar studies of subway ads. conducted in the 1990s. Average ad awareness of subway ads. was higher than that of outdoor advertising measured using similar methodology in 2010s. Respondents demonstrated positive attitudes toward subway advertising, and reported that subway ads. that drew their attention were those with creative ideas, vivid colors, and large-than-life size execution.

摘要：Tourism has been a fast growing industry in the world in the past decade. However, research that investigates the effectiveness of outdoor ads targeting to tourists has far lagged behind. This study aims to assess the awareness of outdoor ads and to provide insight into effective advertising that target tourists. Pedestrians intercepted in downtown hong kong were surveyed using a questionnaire and quota sampling. They were presented with images of seven outdoor advertisements currently displayed in the neighborhood and their recall and impressions of the ads were surveyed. The survey sampled 465 local residents and tourists aged 15 and above. Among the tourists, the awareness of the seven ads ranged from 19 to 49 percent with an average 30 percent. They displayed more positive perceptions of outdoor advertising than the locals, but had lower awareness. Practical suggestions for outdoor advertisers targeting tourists are proposed.

摘要：A successful qualitative and quantitative analysis of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in air-borne particulates in hong kong City has been carried out by the heuristic evolving latent projection (HELP) method recently developed in chemometrics. The resolution result showed that 47 compounds were involved in this sample. Eighteen of them were interesting PAHs and/or their derivatives. The result agreed very well with the one obtained by capillary column GGMS. The resolved UV-visible spectra match well with the standards. With the help of HELP method, accurate quantitative results were also obtained for all the overlapping peaks. The separation ability of chromatography is greatly enhanced by chemometric methods. The HELP method provides a completely new way for quick and accurate analysis of the two-dimensional data produced by hyphenated chromatographic instruments.

Thelimiting null distributions of the new statistics are derived. The powers of the tests against sixalternatives are calculated by simulation, which shows that the new ***'s are acceptable.

摘要：As the most powerful nation in the world, the U.S. presidential election campaign drew a lot of attention from the media around the world. This study examines how party-orientation and market-orientation newspapers in China presented 2008 U.S. presidential election campaign to their audience, and how the news serve for the reproduction of domestic dominated ideology and safeguarding domestic political needs. It adopted content analysis and textual analysis as research methods. The results show that Party newspaper tends to serve domestic political ideology, while market-oriented newspapers showed mixed attitude toward political demand. Although market newspapers, out of the concern of political safety, employed some tactic to comply with the demand of dominated ideology to some extent, their cooperation was limited since their main purpose was commercial success and their presentation even destroy the aim of linkage politics for the reasons include acquiring market profit and/or pursuit of professional value. This study is a positive effort to make up the current research gap of studies on international news in Chinese media.

摘要：Overseas research has shown that achievement emotions have direct relationships with ＂achievement outcome＂ and＂achievement activities＂. The purpose of the present study aimed to compare the relationships betweenachievement emotions, motivation, and language learning strategies of high, mid and low achievers in Englishlanguage learning at an international university in a southern province in China. Quantitative data were collectedthrough a questionnaire survey of 74 （16 males, 58 females） TESL major students. Results indicated that studentsin general experienced more positive than negative achievement emotions; more intrinsically rather thanextrinsically motivated to learn English; and quite frequently used a variety of learning strategies to overcome theirlearning difficulties. However, Year Four low-achievers experienced more negative achievement emotions. Theyseldom used metacognitive, affective and social learning strategies, and they had lower degrees of intrinsicmotivation. Implications for institutional support for at risk students are discussed.
