摘要：In advertisements directed at consumers within a society or others ocieties, brands employ cultural signs （values, beliefs, rituals, and heroes and symbols） and in accordance, it can be observed that they consciously make use of the terms ＂locality＂ and ＂globality＂. In this study, four global food brands＇ advertisements including cultural codes, locality, and globality have been randomly selected and analyzed. These advertising messages have been analyzed at an intercultural level from visual semiotics perspective. It has been tried to determine the ＂local＂ approaches of global brands by revealing the ＂intercultural＂ dimension transferred through visual and linguistic signs in the advertisements which we reselected with an eclectic method.

摘要：In this study,2~5 （five factors at two-level factorial design） design of experiment was applied to investigate a set of optimal machining parameters to achieve a minimum surface roughness value for Abies *** specimens were prepared using different values of spindle speed,feed rate,depth of cut,tool radius,and cutting *** surface roughness （R_z） values were applied using a *** objectives were to：（1）obtain the effective variables of wood surface roughness;（2） analyze which of these factors had an impact on variability in the CNC machining process;（3） evaluate the optimal cutting values within the range of different cutting levels of machining *** results indicate that the design of experiment（DOE） based on the desirability function approach determined the optimal machining parameters successfully,leading to minimum R_a compared to the observed *** surface roughness values of tangential and radial cutting directions were 3.58 and 3.21 μm,respectively.

摘要：This paper explores the film title design in Turkish cinema with the aim of understanding the link between Turkish cinema and Turkish graphic design. It is carried through first with the interviews with producers, directors, title designers, and an extensive use of iconography and textual analysis has been made first between the title and the poster of the same film, and then the titles of the same period. The study focuses on the early period of Turkish cinema during a unique time of political, economical, and social change. In these years, the new Turkish Republic is born with very significant reforms such as the new alphabet. This has also been the time of the first fictional film, first sound film, and the first advertising agency and commercial poster in Turkish. The earliest title sequence that could be reached date back to 1932. From this year on, until the 1950s, which is named here as the early years of Turkish cinema, we see the kingdom of lettering where the typographic elements dominate the titles. During the kingdom of lettering, early Turkish film titles reflect the conditions of the time in terms of film production and the changing society. The paths of Turkish cinema and graphic design seem not to be fully crossed yet; nevertheless we witness the birth of a new visual form and a new nation in these titles

摘要：We determined the seismic model of the soil column within a residential project site in istanbul, Turkey. Specifically, we conducted a refraction seismic survey at 20 locations using a receiver spread with 484.5-Hz vertical geophones at 2-m intervals. We applied nonlinear tomography to first-arrival times to estimate the P-wave velocity-depth profiles and performed Rayleigh-wave inversion to estimate the S-wave velocity-depth profiles down to a depth of 30 m at each of the locations. We then combined the seismic velocities with the geotechnical borehole information regarding the lithology of the soil column and determined the site-specific geotechnical earthquake engineering parameters for the site. Specifically, we computed the maximum soil amplification ratio, maximum surface-bedrock acceleration ratio, depth interval of significant acceleration, maximum soil-rock response ratio, and design spectrum periods TA-TB. We conducted reflection seismic surveys along five line traverses with lengths between 150 and 300 m and delineated landslide failure surfaces within the site. We recorded shot gathers at 2-m intervals along each of the seismic line traverses using a receiver spread with 4 840-Hz vertical geophones at 2-m intervals. We applied nonlinear tomography to first-arrival times to estimate a P-wave velocity-depth model and analyzed the reflected waves to obtain a seismic image of the deep near-surface along each of the line traverses.

摘要：One of the most significant advantages of the digital era is the fact that it presents a wide array of choices, without any time or place restrictions, to the target audience of the past who obtains information from the relatively passive and restricted sources. The role of the mobile devices that people carry with them almost everywhere and the Internet is undeniable in determining the speed of access to the information among these many choices. For brands, it is getting more and more difficult to reach users who spend their days and hours in front of different screens and consume information very quickly. Cross-device advertising, which has become one of the important subjects of the digital advertising studies in 2014, has established itself as an important method for reaching out to the customers of the digital age who use multiple devises. In this context, this study aims to discuss the essentials of a new advertising method called cross-device advertising. It is an advertising method utilized in digital platform by brands that would like to deliver their messages through the right ads, at the right place and time to the users who have multiple device options in today＇s world.

摘要：This study comprises an analysis of the American feminist playwright Marsha Norman’s play Getting Out from a socialist-feminist perspective. Getting Out is about the physical and psychological confinement of the victimized protagonist Arlie Holsclaw in contemporary patriarchal American society. Throughout the play, the factors that victimize Arlie are given as the outcomes of a patriarchal society with its basic institutions as the family,educational system, religion and the law symbolized by the correctional rehabilitation. These factors which are under the hegemony of patriarchal authority shape Arlie’s life as beginning from her childhood in the past and define her present search for female autonomy.

摘要：Political communication is an interactive process by which politicians transmit information and political discourse to voters and receive feedback through media. This communication process is a two way process of communication between politicians and voters by which, on the one hand, politicians transmit their thoughts and wills to voters, and on the other hand voters communicate their opinions to politicians, after interpreting, in different ways, the messages that they received. The key objective of political communication is to persuade or influence and cause voters, who are the target audience, to vote for a particular party by convincing them. In order to ensure the smooth operation of political communication processes it is essential that the parliament, government, political parties, non-governmental organizations, environmentalist groups and pressure groups also actually take part in this process The decisive and transformative power of mass media and advertising phenomenon on the political systems has grown to become more and more influential in the recent years. The use of information considerably increases in line with the increase in the use of propaganda. No doubL this information age has turned the world into ＂a universal village＂. On the one hand, the concentration in media and on the other hand rapid developments in Internet technologies expose societies to the bombardment of messages. Being exposed to or bombarded by numerous varieties of messages in their daily lives lead to the creation of variabilities and instabilities in individual＇s behaviors. Accordingly, political organizations while trying to convey messages to masses through political communication and advertising have to deliver systematic, comprehensible and influential messages by taking the advantage of visualization as much as possible.

摘要：This paper comprises an analysis of the modernist American writer Truman Capote＇s novel The Grass Harp （1951） from a feminist perspective. While the novel treats the ostracizing of four people by the oppressive mindset of a patriarchal society, the female character Dolly Talbo who leads the banished group to live in a tree house becomes the embodiment of a Goddess image introduced by the New Age Spiritualities and Neopaganism. Creating a new culture for women as an alternative to the patriarchal system, in which concepts such as love, herbalism, and magic are sanctioned as sacred, and offering this culture as an opportunity to all human beings, Dolly Talbo can be perceived as a contemporary holy witch who becomes an occult and undermining threat to the patriarchal order.

摘要：Mete Sakpmar, who was born in Ankara, May 5, 1954, is a contemporary Turkish composer. His compositions were played in various countries like Turkey, France （1980-1983）, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Norway, Hungary, Albania, Belgium, Holland, and German, and he also joined lots of seminars, radio, and television programs. His inspirational sources are traditional Turkish music, modern French music, American cultural traditions, as well as jazz, acoustic, and electronic music. His music, in summary, is about taking a little from tonality, twelve-note system, coincidences, improvisations, etc., and joining them with his own experiences like emotions, knowledge, and intelligence. Sakpmar always defends that the composer of the day has to benefit from lots of various sources. He is doing this as well as trying new forms in every new piece. It does not matter if these are tonal, atonal, serial, or modal but it must be personal. All the borders and capacities of the instruments have to be forced.

摘要：Industrialized building systems came into the agenda in response to requirements of earthquake resistance and rapid construction in Turkey after 1999 Izmit earthquake. CFS （cold-formed steel） framing system is able to meet the existing requirements in the field of low rise residential. But, objective comparison is required for the selection of structural systems used in low rise residentials. CFS system is compared with timber frame and reinforced concrete building systems in terms of design and applicability criterion in circumstances of Turkey, and the results of this comparison are presented in this study. In order to compare building systems objectively, a sample project, has been designed and studied on it. Three structural systems have been separately applied over this project designed in consideration of existing housing stock and preferences of the construction industry of Turkey Evaluation method with different values is selected in comparison and properties of three different structural systems are graded according to evaluation method. As a result of comparison, the CFS system is the most advantageous low rise residential prefabricated construction system in terms of design and applicability
