摘要：The rapid growth of the Internet raises the importance of resource planning of Internet protocol（IP） over elastic optical networks（EONs）, which is a challenging task due to more complex and obscure physical constraints of it. Compared with network cost, the power consumption may eventually become the barrier to the expansion of the Internet. We present an energy-efficient virtual topology design（VTD） scheme for IP over EON. We explicitly explain and analyze the mixed integer linear programming model and the heuristic algorithm for this scheme. Numerical results show that the proposed VTD scheme can significantly save power consumption.

摘要：A room division multiplexing （RDM）-based hybrid visible light communication （VLC） network for realiz- ing indoor broadband communication within a multi-room house is presented. The downlink information is transmitted by light-emitting diode lamps, whereas the uplink information is transmitted through WiFi. RDM is introduced to improve the VLC network throughput; in addition, the associated signaling lo- calization and active handoff mechanisms are designed for implementation. The experimental platform demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid architecture, along with the RDM and active handoff mechanisms.

摘要：We present a new structure of nearly-zero flattened dispersion and highly nonlinear photonic crystal fiber （PCF） in the telecommunication window. This fiber design is comprised of a hybrid-core region with bismuth-doped region in the center and three lower bismuth-doped regions in the first ring that enables dispersion control while maintaining a high nonlinear coefficient. Numerical analysis results show that the proposed PCF is achieved with a nonlinear coefficient of about 3301 W ^-1 km^-1, a dispersion value of about 0.5537 ps/（***） at 1550 nm, and nearly-zero flattened dispersion fluctuating within 2.5 ps/（***） ranging from 1.496 to 1.596 μm.

摘要：A scheme of flexible colorless remote note with reflective semiconductor optical amplifier （RSOA） assisted Michelson interferometer is proposed. This is capable of generating an optical carrier suppressed signal at a specific radio frequency to suppress the penalty brought about by Rayleigh backscattering and reflection in a full-duplex single fiber transmission network. Simulations are conducted, and the validation of the proposal is discussed by observing the penalty eye opening factor. The results are useful for designing cost-effective multi-wavelength passive optical network （PON） or radio-over-fiber （RoF） systems.

摘要：A simple design procedure is used to generate photonic crystal fibers （PCFs） with ultra-flattened chromatic dispersion. Only four parameters are required, which not only considerably saves the computing time, but also distinctly reduces the air-hole quantity. The influence of the air-hole diameters of each ring of hexagonal PCFs （H-PCF, including 1-hole-missing and 7-hole-missing H-PCFs）, circular PCFs （C-PCF）, square PCFs （S-PCF）, and octagonal PCFs （O-PCF） is investigated through simulations. Results show that regardless of the cross section structures of the PCFs, the 1st ring air-hole diameter has the greatest influence on the dispersion curve followed by that of the 2nd ring. The 3rd ring diameter only affects the dispersion curve within longer wavelengths, whereas the 4th and 5th rings have almost no influence on the dispersion curve. The hole-to-hole pitch between rings changes the dispersion curve as a whole. Based on the simulation results, a procedure is proposed to design PCFs with ultra-flattened dispersion. Through the adjustment of air-hole diameters of the inner three rings and hole-to-hole pitch, a flattened dispersion of 0±0.5 ps/（nm·km） within a wavelength range of 1.239 – 2.083 μm for 5-ring 1-hole-missing H-PCF, 1.248 – 1.992 μm for 5-ring C-PCF, 1.237 – 2.21 μm for 5-ring S-PCF, 1.149 – 1.926 μm for 5-ring O-PCF, and 1.294 – 1.663 μm for 7-hole-missing H-PCF is achieved.

摘要：The properties of the linear chirped fiber grating (CFG) which is used in the true time delay unit of the optical beamforming networks (OBFNs) are studied intensively through theoretical analyses and numerical calculations. It is concluded that the dispersion of the CFG is equal to 1/(3Gc), where G is the chirp coefficient of CFG and c is the light speed. Based on this relationship, a simplified designing process of a CFG which satisfies the requirements of the OBFN is given. The simulation results are coincident with the theoretical conclusions.

摘要：To improve the robustness of the Low Earth Orbit(LEO) satellites networks and realise load balancing, a Cross-layer design and Ant-colony optimization based Load-balancing routing algorithm for LEO Satellite Networks(CAL-LSN) is proposed in this paper. In CALLSN, mobile agents are used to gather routing information actively. CAL-LSN can utilise the information of the physical layer to make routing decision during the route construction phase. In order to achieve load balancing, CALLSN makes use of a multi-objective optimization model. Meanwhile, how to take the value of some key parameters is discussed while designing the algorithm so as to improve the reliability. The performance is measured by the packet delivery rate, the end-to-end delay, the link utilization and delay jitter. Simulation results show that CAL-LSN performs well in balancing traffic load and increasing the packet delivery rate. Meanwhile, the end-to-end delay and delay jitter performance can meet the requirement of video transmission.
