摘要：There are two different effects to generate group effect and Gires-Tournois effect. Both effects are delay dispersion by multilayer thin film mirrors： chirper employed to introduce desired dispersion in the designed mirror. Thus the designed mirror provides large dispersion throughout broad waveband. Such mirror can be used for dispersion compensation in Ti：sapphire femtosecond lasers. Most group delay dispersion of a 5-mm Ti：sapphire crystal can be compensated perfectly with only four bounces of the designed mirror.

摘要：In this letter, a guided-mode resonance （GMR） filter with the same material for both the grating layer and the waveguide layer is designed, and its optical properties are investigated. The GMR filter owns almost 100% reflection at the resonance wavelength of 800 nm with the full-width at half-maximum （FWHM） of 20 nm, and its sideband reflection from 700 to 1000 nm is less than 5%. As the resonance wavelength is influenced by more than one parameter during the fabrication process, GMR filter with the same resonance wavelength can be obtained by adjusting other parameters or even one parameter to deviate from the design value.

摘要：We report on the design of a high diffraction efficiency multi-layer dielectric grating with wide incident angle and broad bandwidth for 80Ohm. The optimized grating can achieve 〉 95% diffraction efficiency in the first order at an incident angle of 5° from Littrow and a wavelength from 77Ohm to 83Ohm, with peak diffraction efieieney of 〉 99.5% at 80Ohm. The electric field distribution of the optimized multi-layer dielectric grating within the gratings ridge is 1.3 times enhancement of the incidence light, which presents potential high laser resistance ability. Because of its high-effieieney, wide incident, broad bandwidth and potential high resistance ability, the multi-layer dielectric grating should have practical application in Ti：sapphire laser systems.

摘要：An internal Brewster guided-mode resonance （GMR） filter is designed. For this kind of GMR filter, the Brewster reflection occurs at the interface of grating/waveguide layers rather than at the interface of air/grating layers. At Brewster angle of 60~, the GMR filter owns almost 100% reflection at the resonance wavelength of 800 nm with the full-width at half-maximum （FWHM） of 0.2 nm. Its angle response changing with the fabrication deviation is also discussed.

摘要：A laser alignment system is applied to a high power laser facility for inertial confinement fusion. A design of the automated, close-loop laser beam alignment system is described. Its function is to sense beam alignment errors in a laser beam transport system and automatically steer mirrors preceding the sensor location as required to maintain beam alignment. The laser beam is sampled by a sensor package, which uses video cameras to sense pointing and centering errors. The camera outputs are fed to a personal computer, which includes video digitizers and uses image storage and software to sense the centroid of the image. Signals are sent through the computer to a stepper motor controller, which drives stepper motors on mirror mounts preceding the beam sampling location to return the beam alignment to the prescribed condition. 摘要：The high-power laser beam in the final optics assembly of high-power laser facilities is often modulated by contamina- tion particles, which may cause local high light intensity, thereby increasing the filamentary damage probability for optical components. To study the general design basis for a final optics assembly to decrease the risk of filamentary damage, different-sized contamination particles deposited on a component surface are simulated to modulate a 351-nm laser beam based on the optical transmission theory, and the corresponding simulation results are analyzed statistically in terms of the propagation characteristic and the light field intensity distribution of the modulated laser beam. The statistical results show that component thickness and distance between components can to some extent be optimized to reduce the appearance of local high light intensity, and the general design basis of component thickness and arrangement are given for different control levels of particle sizes. Moreover, the statistical results can also predict the laser beam quality approximately under the existing optics design and environmental cleanliness. The optimized design for final optics assembly based on environmental cleanliness level is useful to prolong the lifetime of optics and enhance the output power of high-power laser facilities.

摘要：Image relaying is presented as a technique for aligning beams onto mm-sized target of high power laser. On the basis of summarizing the preceeding work on the near-field image relaying of multiple spatial filters, the far-filed image relaying is suggested firstly. The near-field and far-field image relaying properties of multiple spatial filters in laser beams automatic alignment system are analyzed. A geometrical optics approach and an ABCD ray matrix theory are used throughout. The reasonable and optimum scheme for automatically aligning multi-pass beam paths is presented and demonstrated on the multi-pass amplifier system of the SG-III prototype.

摘要：The theoretical model of spatial noise passing through a spatial filter is established in high power laser system under the small signal approximation. The transmission characteristic for a noise signal passing through spatial filters with different magnifications is analyzed by numerical simulation, according to the actual structure of the high power laser system. The results show that the spatial modulation period of low-frequency noise getting through the pinhole will be proportional to the magnification of the spatial filter. When the magnification is less than 1, the safe low-frequency noise will be extruded into the high-frequency region, which is the fast increasing part, and finally develops into the most dangerous part which can damage the optical devices. The conclusion of this research improves the relay imaging theory of a spatial filter and provides an important theoretical basis for a general design of high power laser systems.

摘要：Conventional HfO2/SiO2 and Al2O3/HfO2/SiO2 double stack high reflective （HR） coatings at 532 nm are deposited by electron beam evaporation onto BK7 substrates. The laser-induced damage threshold （LIDT） of two kinds of HR coatings is tested, showing that the laser damage resistance of the double stack HR coatings （16 J/cm2） is better than that of the conventional HR coatings （12.8 J/cm2）. Besides, the optical properties, surface conditions, and damage morphologies of each group samples are characterized. The results show that laser damage resistance of conventional HR coatings is determined by absorptive defect, while nodular defect is responsible for the LIDT of double stack HR coatings.

摘要：Super-resolution filters based on a Gaussian beam are proposed to reduce the focusing spot in optical data storage systems. Both of amplitude filters and pure-phase filters are designed respectively to gain the desired intensity distributions. Their performances are analysed and compared with those based on plane wave in detail. The energy utilizations are presented. The simulation results show that our designed super-resolution filters are favourable for use in optical data storage systems in terms of performance and energy utilization.
