摘要：Where do we draw the line of divinely inspired visionary art, and Christian kitsch？ Folk artists such as the Rev. Howard Finster and Sister Gertrude Morgan straddled the fence of kitsch and visionary art because they created work that was blatantly polemical and didactic, yet lived lives that inspired thousands of people across the US. The so-called ＂Southern Folk Art＂ movement consists of self-taught artists from the American South who are self-trained and rely heavily on ＂visions＂ and ＂prophetic words＂ as the genesis of their art. This article contends that the art produced by folk artists is documentation of their visionary insights as opposed to detached works that are admired for aesthetic reasons. While folk art of the American South portrays the charismatic imagination with themes of eschatological community and the second coming, it is the ＂visionary artist＂ that is contemplated, rather than his or her bona fide message of redemption and re-creation.

摘要：Cooperation is ubiquitous in biological sys- tems. However, if natural selection favors traits that confer an advantage to one individual over another, then helping others would be paradoxical. Nevertheless, cooperation persists and is critical in maintaining homeostasis in systems ranging from populations of bacteria to groupings of mammals. Developing an understanding of the dynamics and mechanisms by which cooperation operates is critical in understanding ecological and evolutionary relationships. Over the past decade, synthetic biology has emerged as a powerful tool to study social dynamics. By engineering rationally controlled and modulatable beha- vior into microbes, we have increased our overall under- standing of how cooperation enhances, or conversely constrains, populations. Furthermore, it has increased our understanding of how cooperation is maintained within populations, which may provide a useful framework to influence populations by altering cooperation. As many bacterial pathogens require cooperation to infect the host and survive, the principles developed using synthetic biology offer promise of developing novel tools and strategies to treat infections, which may reduce the use of antimicrobial agents. Overall, the use of engineered cooperative microbes has allowed the field to verify existing, and develop novel, theories that may govern cooperative behaviors at all levels of biology.

摘要：In this paper, the problems of chaos and chaos control for a class of susceptible-infected- removed （SIR） epidemic model with seasonal fluctuation are investigated. The season- ality in outbreak is natural among infectious diseases, as the common influenza, A type H1N1 influenza and so on. It is shown that there exist chaotic phenomena in the epidemic model. Furthermore, the tracking control method is used to control chaotic motions in the epidemic model. A feedback controller is designed to achieve tracking of an ideal out- put. Thus, the density of infected individuals can converge to zero, in other words, thedisease can be disappeared. Finally, numerical simulations illustrate that the controller is effective.

摘要：The orchards usually have rough terrain,dense tree canopy and *** is hard to use GNSS for autonomous navigation in orchard due to signal occlusion,multipath effect,and radio frequency *** achieve autonomous navigation in orchard,a visual navigation method based on multiple images at different shooting angles is proposed in this paper.A dynamic image capturing device is designed for camera installation and multiple images can be shot at different ***,the obtained orchard images are classified into sky and soil detection *** image is transformed to HSV space and initially segmented into sky,canopy and soil regions by median filtering and morphological ***,the sky and soil regions are extracted by the maximum connected region algorithm,and the region edges are detected and filtered by the Canny ***,the navigation line in the current frame is extracted by fitting the region coordinate *** the dynamic weighted filtering algorithm is used to extract the navigation line for the soil and sky detection stage,respectively,and the navigation line for the sky detection stage is mirrored to the soil ***,the Kalman filter algorithm is used to fuse and extract the final navigation *** test results on 200 images show that the accuracy of visual navigation path fitting is 95.5%,and single frame image processing costs 60 ms,which meets the real-time and robustness requirements of *** visual navigation experiments in Camellia oleifera orchard show that when the driving speed is 0.6 m/s,the maximum tracking offset of visual navigation in weed-free and weedy environments is 0.14 m and 0.24 m,respectively,and the RMSE is 30 mm and 55 mm,respectively.
