摘要：The paper is a part of the dissertation to reveal the psyche of the Ruler as the authorized man created the ＂space＂ in the Monument National in indonesia, through investigation related metaphysically data as a process to having qualities becoming to ＂indonesia＂. By using the Grounded Theory research method, which refers to Glaser and Strauss, phenomenological observations and Hermeneutic-lnterpretive method of Ricouer, the process of deriving quality form an architectural presence is revealed. By connecting the Spatial Archetype Theory of LobeU, the paper reveals the ＂inflated ego of the Ruler as Leader＂ was manifested by symbol rays of Radiant Axes civilization through Soekarno＇s unconsciousness thought of space. The presence of architecture the National Monument serves not merely as a city landmark, but more than that, it roles as the center of orientation and development for a Jakarta Master plan conceived 50 years ago and still maintained to this day as the basic of the Jakarta City Planning 2030 In effect, this means that the National Monument plays the role as the axis of indonesia＇s modem civilization.

摘要：Environmental issues are not inexhaustible, such as climate change, rubbish, nuclear waste, industrial cesspool, compost heap, etc.. Unfortunately, internalization of the environment is not passively done, for example, through language （literature）. Environmental issues seem to have not received the attention seriously. Those issues can be seen in indonesia language policies （ILP） from pre-colonial until reform era. ILP can be classified into seven periods, namely： pre-colonial （1331-1627）, Dutch （1816-1942）, Youth Pledge （1928-1942）, Japanese （1942-1945）, Old Order （1945-1966）, New Order （1966-1998）, Reform （1998-present）. The seventh period discusses the language policies, but an article focuses on environmental issues in language policy and language planning.

摘要：In analysing a speech genre, genre analysis is applied. Genre analysis is a recent trend in discourse analysis. It combines socio-cultural and psycholinguistic aspect of text construction and interpretation. This analysis aims to show what extent surface linguistic forms align with given standardized communicative events. To construct a text, a speaker should master its schematic structure. The schematic structure consists of organizing the rhetoric. It covers the macro-stages which can be classified into introductory stage, body stage, and concluding stage. The rhetorical organization/structure （micro moves） of a speech genre includes ＂opening marker＂, ＂gambit＂, ＂narration＂, and ＂marker＂ in the introductory stage; ＂claim＂, ＂confutation＂, ＂confirmation＂, and ＂concession＂ in the body stage; ＂marker＂, ＂appeal/recommendation＂, and a closing in the body stage. By studying the schematic structure, it can be recognized how the students construct the genre, whether they follow the linear pattern offered or their construction of speech is influenced by their native cultural way of thinking. In sequencing the micro moves, the students followed the sequence offered in the framework of speech genre. Although there was a slight difference in sequencing the moves, in general the students have conformed to the proposed sequence. The variety of sequencing the moves was prompted by the native language and cultural background （Javanese and Chinese）. Since rhetorical organization varies from culture to culotte, it can be tolerated that the students have a variety in sequencing the moves.

摘要：Resistance in insect pests against the endotoxin of Bacillus thuringiensis （Berliner） （Bt） is a major threat to the usefulness of this biopesticide, both used as traditional formulations and in transgenic crops. A crucial requirement for the development of successful resistance management strategies is a molecular understanding of the nature and inheritance of resistance mechanisms. This information can be used to design management strategies that will delay or counteract Bt resistance. The best known Bt resistance mechanism is inactivation of brush border membrane receptors. This type of resistance has a largely recessive mode of inheritance, which has enabled the design of resistance management approaches involving high dose and refuge strategies. Recent observations suggest that other resistance mechanisms are possible, including a mechanism that sequesters the toxin in the gut lumen through inducible immune reactions. The elevated immune status associated with tolerance to the toxin can be transmitted to subsequent generations by a maternal effect, which has implications for resistance management in the field. The high dose/refuge strategy may not be appropriate for the management of these alternative resistance mechanisms and other strategies have to be developed if inducible dominant resistance or tolerance mechanisms occur frequently in the field.

摘要：Over the past few years, vampire genre has populated young adult （YA） literature. YA literature can be defined as narratives about the individual growth and maturation of adolescent protagonist. Adolescence is the bridging process of growing from childhood to adulthood. Furthermore, it is a turbulent time of rapid physical growth and sexual development. It also creates a critical phase in the formation of identity. In this paper, the author shall identify the ways in which representation of adolescence in an American contemporary young adult novel, Anderson＇s Thirsty （2008）, reflects and shapes the maturation of its young protagonist. The author argues that the transformation of vampire in the novel works as a metaphor for the various changes and maturation process experienced by the protagonist in the novel. Furthermore, the author＇s discussion will be preceded by a short history of vampire narrative. The author＇s analysis is supported by psychological theories of adolescence and socio-cultural approach which focuses on the ambiguities of adolescents＇ identity. Moreover, this paper alludes a psychoanalytic reading of the symbolism of the vampire which refers to Freud＇s notions of libido and death drive The conclusion of this paper is that Anderson＇s Thirsty is a paranormal novel which positions the implied readers to understand the trials of an adolescent protagonist during his difficult time of transition from childhood to adulthood.

摘要：Conductive activated carbons were prepared by pyrolysis process at temperatures below 800 °C with the precursor form Gelam wood (Melaluca cajuputi Powell). The pyrolyses were conducted starting from 230 °C to 260 °C as the preheating step, followed by the pyrolysis at 700 °C. Cooling process was applied between the carbonization and the activation processes. Fractional factorial design was performed to analyze the influence of the preheating temperature, volume loading, cooling step treatment and the heating period at the carbonization-activation temperature based on the electrical resistivity of the carbon product. The results showed that the electrical resistivity of carbons reduced in the order of 1,000 ? to 10 ?. The lowest resistivity obtained with this method is equal to 5 ?·cm.

摘要：Prediction of ship performance in preliminary ship design is an important consideration. It could guarantee ship in safe and comfort. However, many design works did not involve simultaneously ship performances predictions in preliminary design. Moreover, ship designers sometimes modified a ship form to obtain proper design without ship performance consideration. Therefore, this study concerns on predictions of total resistance and added wave resistance of a ferry using a hybrid particle-grid method and then its motions response after modifying bow and stern parts by conducting experiment. Research results show total resistance and added wave resistance have a significant different, therefore, it would be an important consideration in determining ship powering in preliminary ship design. The non-dimensional added wave resistance increases in increasing wave length from λ/Lpp = 0.5 to 1.0 and it decreases after L/λ = 1.0. In addition, it tends to decrease caused by increasing ship speed. The comparison of averaged heave and pitch amplitudes between basic forms after modifying bow and stem parts is quiet similar. However, the rolling amplitude of the modified form is significantly higher comparing with the basic form. We conclude that a ship could be design in preliminary design take into account performances predictions by using numerical method and experimental work.

摘要：The purpose of this study is to find ＂the new theory＂ in the process of having quality ＂form＂ in architecture field which is usually visualized by the ruler through his ideology of his architectural work which is created by his architects. The study is about an urban design in architectural field related with space-power-knowledge. To reveal the meaning of the architecture objects is need to analyze the architectural object ＂form＂ as the culture-material, and to reveal the meaning of the objects through the hidden things related to the presence of the metaphysical data. To find ＂the new theory＂ used ＂grounded theory research＂, the method is part of qualitative research which refers to Glaser and Strauss. The achievement study is finding the idea of＂architecture stage＂ of the ruler, represented by Soekamo as the first indonesian President. Through visual observation and spatial experiences in his several architectural works concerning the ＂Project＇s Lighthouse＂ as his architectural work in Jakarta in the 1960s the idea of connectedness was found. He composes his architecture＇s work by inserted the ＂architecture drama analogy＂ as metaphor for representing himself and his ideologist by exploring the Javanese Ancient＇s as the basic design in the modem architecture at that time the east meet west.

摘要：In 1983, Horward Gardner, a professor of education at Harvard Universiy introduced the theory of Multiple Intelligence. This theory states that people have a unique blend of capabilities and skills （intelligences）. In the classroom context, it implies that students possess different kinds of minds and therefore learn, remember, perform, and understand in different ways. Based on the theory, Gardner challenged the previous practices that gauged intelligence using IQ test which focused more on the ability to use language and/or logic. According to him, the measurement of people＇s intelligence should not be limited to linguistic and logical-mathematical abilities only, but should also cover other abilities. In addition to language and logic, Gardner proposed six other intelligences, which in the past were known as aptitudes or interests, namely： Visual-Spatial Intelligence, Musical Intelligence, Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence, Intrapersonal Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, and Naturalist Intelligence. As an English teacher, we often have to deal with the fact that our classes consist of students who posses different intelligences. To help the students reach their maximum learning potential, teacher needs to respect students＇ uniqueness and accommodate the variety of intelligences. This can be done by applying multiple intelligences approach in designing classroom activities.
